Eid Al Adha festives,

16TH NOV 2010  WAS  THE 67TH BIRTHDAY OF MR TONY MYEGYPT.

N

These guys pulled up in the middle of the road  not sure who they thought they where, but look like the local Mafia. HI YOU GUYS "AS I TOOK THE PHOTO, THE GUY IN THE BACK GAVE A VERY STERN LOOK AS I ASKED HIM WHY HE HAD THE RIGHT TO PARK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUSY ROAD  HOLDING ALL THE TRAFFIC UP.
LIKE THIS NEXT GUY DOES WITH THE TOURIST

THIS IS AN AREA  WHERE ANY TOURIST BRAVE ENOUGH TO PUT UP WITH THE HASSLE  HAS TO WALK TO GET TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE OF THE LUXOR TEMPLE,
HERE THE PAVEMENT NARROWS AND THE POWERS THAT BE HAVE STUCK A POLE IN THE CENTRE OF THE NARROWEST AREA  MAYBE ITS TO STOP THE TOURISTS FROM SPEEDING  THE CURB  TO GET ON THE ROAD IS SOME 18" HIGH AND PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS HEIGHT OF STEP UNLESS WE CARRY A LADDER WITH US,  OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS I HAVE OBSERVED THIS ONE PARTICULAR DRIVER  WHO USES THIS AREA  WHERE THE TOURIST HAS TO STOP  TO DECIDE ! DO I GO AROUND THE POLE  OR GET DOWN ON THE ROAD , BUT ME  I DECIDE TO TELL THE GUY TO MOVE SO I CAN GET THROUGH, PROBLEM WAS I  AS HE KNEW HAD BEEN IN THE HAMEES  GARDEN DRINKING A COUPLE OF BEERS ( ITS MY BIRTHDAY SO WHY NOT)
BUT IF I MADE ANY TROUBLE FOR HIM HE WOULD CALL THE POLICE  AND SAY I WAS DRUNK, AND ONES BIRTHDAY IS NOT A GOOD TIME TO SPEND IN A POLICE STATION,
SO I JUST  BARGED PAST HIM ,

EXCUSE ME HE SAID I NEED TO KNOW . I TURNED AROUND AND TOOK ANOTHER PHOTO
.
LEAVING  JUST ANOTHER OBNOXIOUS CARRIAGE DRIVER WHO DID NOT GET A CUSTOMER.  WITH AN  UNANSWERED QUESTION,.
,
THESE FOLKS CAME TO FEED SOME OF THE MANY CATS THAT LIVE IN AND AROUND HAMEES GARDEN.  THEY HAVE BEEN TO LUXOR 13 TIMES. DID NOT ASK THE REASON BUT THE CATS SURE LIKE THEM TO VISIT, AS DOES THE OWNER OF THE GARDENS JUDGING FROM THE AMOUNT OF BEER THEY CONSUMED ON A NICE SUNNY AFTERNOON,

'
AND WE HAVE SOME MORE NICE CHILDREN WHO THINK THE GUY WITH THE CAMERA WANTS SOME PHOTOS OF KIDS WITH FUNNY FACES. AND EVEN WEIRDER POSES.THAT HE IS WILLING TO PAY FOR.
'
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, THIS IS A STALL OUTSIDE HAMEES RESTAURANT ,  BY KNOW YOU MUST KNOW IS SITUATED OPPOSITE THE TEMPLE OF LUXORHERE THEY THINK WE ARE GOING TO PAY TOP DOLLAR FOR OLD STUFF  PURCHASE TAKE IT HOME AND REPAIR SO IT CAN BE USED .                      OR A BAG,
.

.
A STREET VENDOR  THESE ALWAYS TURN UP AT FESTIVALS AS DO THE PACKETS OF CRISPS  AND CANS/BOTTLES OF COKE. LOTS OF MINERAL WATER AS THE LOCALS ARE FINDING OUT NILE TAP WATER IS CAUSING KIDNEY PROBLEMS. AS LATEST FIGURES FROM THE HOSPITAL SHOW AN INCREASE OF 50% USING ITS KIDNEY ANALYSES UNIT HERE IN THE LUXOR INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL.
TODAY IS ALSO THE FEAST OF    Eid al-Adha , NOT TO BE OVERSHADOWED BY MY BIRTHDAY, AND OUTSIDE THE MOSQUE  THERE ARE MANY SKINS OF THE SACRIFICED SHEEP AND GOATS,  LETS HOPE THEY ARE REMOVED BEFORE THE FLIES COME  TO ALSO CELIBRATE THE FEAST,

OK "LETS GET STUCK INTO THAT FESTIVE LAMB CHOP.
NOTICE HOW DAVE IS PATTING ME ON THE HEAD.

AT 18.00 A FRIEND WHO IS FROM THE SAME PART OF THE WORLD
DECIDED TO JOIN ME IN CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY WITH A FEAST ON THE ROOF,
MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IN LUXOR.
WE CELIBRATED DAVE'S BIRTHDAY 0N THE 12TH.NOV
