6th December birds along the Nile

Grey Heron (ardea cinerea),

  1. Wow, you took these variety of birds in just a day. I look forward when I can do the same. And then be able to name each one of them.

    But first things first, I need to work and save then buy a camera lens.

  2. Great website. Its the first time I've been here. I'm based a bit further up the Nile in Khartoum, from where I have my own blog on the local birds http://birdingsudan.blogspot.com/.
    A few comments on the birds in the photos - the sandpiper is a Common Sandpiper, the streaked warbler that is unlabelled is a Zitting Cisticola. I think the photo labeled as Meadow Pipit might be a Red-throated Pipit, as it has while lines on the mantle. I would also expect it to be far commoner in Egypt than Meadow Pipit.
    I look forward to seeing some more of the birds you are getting at your end of the Nile. We probably get pretty much the same migrants as they use the Nile as a flyway, and it will be interesting to compare our sightings.
